4 ways to explore responsible exhibitionism [solo]

4 ways to explore responsible exhibitionism [solo]

Exhibitionism, or the act of deriving pleasure from displaying one's body or sexuality in public, can be an exhilarating and empowering form of self-expression – even when approached responsibly and legally. We’re not talking about flashing strangers in your trench coat, for example. Exploring your desires for (very) public displays of affection don’t need to get you locked up, but it could get you fired up. Here are four of our recommendations for the curious among us.

  1. Life Model

If it’s good enough for Kate Winslet in Titanic, it’s good enough for you. Life drawing is a fantastic way for artists to practise drawing the human form, and they are always looking for willing nude models. Not everyone likes the idea of getting completely naked for a roomful of strangers, but for those who do, this is the perfect platform. Creative communities will be grateful to have your body as a focal point for their art, and you might even make some pocket money while doing it.

  1. Nudist Communities

Joining nudist communities or naturist groups provides a legal and supportive environment for those interested in exhibitionism. These communities promote body positivity and self-acceptance while respecting the boundaries and consent of participants. Nudist communities generally aren’t places to ogle or eroticise, but rather considered safe and free environments to feel at home in your naked body, while surrounded by others’.

  1. Adult Events:

In sex positive communities, you don’t have to be partnered to party. For those interested in exploring everything from exhibitionism to group sex, an invite to a private adult event is worth its weight in gold. To foray into this world, try searching for ‘adult parties’ in your area on online communities. In lieu of an invite to a more exclusive event, gay saunas also host ‘clothing optional’ public parties, where you are also free to be publicly intimate with other party-goers.

  1. Get Digital:

Get naked and naughty in front of the whole world - and never leave the comfort of your own room. The internet provides a vast space for exhibitionism through various online platforms. If filming solo sex acts isn’t your thing, there are spaces for all sorts of celebrations of your naked body – share some photos or write some biographical erotica. Just make sure you’re comfortable with anything you produce to exist for all eternity in the cloud.

Practising solo exhibitionism can be a fulfilling journey when approached in the right way, and there are so many reasons people experiment with it. For the artist (or muse) in you, your kinky alter ego or an exercise in rebellious self love, getting out of your clothes and comfort zone could unleash a whole new world of liberation.
